Cadbury unveils world’s largest creme egg in Birmingham

In a bold and delightfully sweet celebration of Easter, Cadbury has unveiled what is believed to be the world’s largest Creme Egg — a towering three-foot-high chocolate creation currently on display at Cadbury World in Bournville, Birmingham.

Handcrafted over two and a half days by chocolatiers Terry Collins and Dawn Jenks, the oversized egg is made entirely from real Cadbury chocolate and filled with the brand’s signature fondant — staying true to the original recipe that has delighted generations.

Wrapped in a hand-painted shell, the egg is both a visual spectacle and a technical achievement, combining artisanal craftsmanship with the joyful indulgence the Creme Egg represents. While tempting to any chocolate lover, the creation is strictly for viewing — not for tasting.

“We’re always experimenting with new ideas for seasonal pieces,” said Collins. “This year, we wanted to push the limits. We asked ourselves: how big could we go, while staying true to the essence of the Creme Egg?”

Visitors to Cadbury World can admire the giant egg through 27 April as part of the attraction’s Easter celebrations. The creation is part of Cadbury’s long tradition of blending confectionery with creativity, offering fans a larger-than-life take on one of the UK’s most beloved chocolate treats.

At a time when Easter often leans on the commercial and the conventional, this playful and unexpected gesture reminds visitors that chocolate can still surprise — especially when it comes in three-foot-tall portions.

After all, if Easter isn't about a little wonder (and a lot of chocolate), then what is?
