Al Baraka Banking Group CEO visits Morocco
The CEO of the BMCE Bank of Africa's partner for the creation of a participatory bank in Morocco this year was visiting the Kingdom for a few days. He attended the first preparatory meeting of the Board of Directors of this future participatory bank held on Friday 27th January 2017 at the headquarters of the BMCE Bank of Africa. Mr. Adnan Ahmed Youssif was amazed by the development of Morocco: "The strong performance of recently developed industries (such as the automotive, aviation and electronics industries) and the expansion of Moroccan companies in West Africa, could create favorable conditions enabling Morocco to strengthen its position in international value chains. Morocco also has a strong and diversified banking sector totaling assets of 160 billion Dollar in 2015, divided among 19 banks, which in turn have about 6300 branches ".

FIAD: The 5th edition without Maroc Export
Forum Afrique Développement The 5th edition without Maroc Export The Attijariwafa bank group is the only organizer of the 5th edition of the International Africa Development Forum, scheduled for 16th and 17th March in Casablanca. The event initiated in 2010 by the banking group was organized in 2015 and 2016 in partnership with Maroc Export. The BMCE Bank of Africa spot awarded in Los Angeles
The commercial "Rêvons d'un nouveau monde" produced by Dounia Productions for the BMCE Bank of Africa has again won an award in Los Angeles. The CIH Bank and the QIIB partners for universal, digital and multi-channel banking

ATTIJARIWAFA BANK TO HAVE CFC TOUR
CFC will finally have its bank tower. This new building will no longer house the BMCE Bank, but the headquarters of Attijariwafa bank. If the tower of the BMCE Bank was transferred to Rabat into a real skyscraper whose investment is estimated at several billion Dirhams, the noise runs within the management team of Casablanca Finance City that it is the Bank of the group SNI which will realize a bank tower in the Casablancan financial center. Discussions with the architects are under way for this project, the investment cost of which can reach 1 billion Dirhams.

Morocco and Spain explore new avenues of partnership to tackle climate challenges in the energy and water sectors
The Social and Environmental Economic Council (SEEC) and the Economic and Social Council (ESC) in Spain want to pool their efforts and strengthen their partnership to face the challenges of climate change. Yesterday in Rabat, the heads of the two institutions met in a bilateral seminar on the theme "The role of the partnership between the SEEC of Morocco and the Spanish ESC in the implementation of the global agenda Climate change: the case of the energy and water sectors ". The objective is to discuss these problems, to find solutions to the challenges posed and to exchange experiences in this area. Today, the energy and water sectors are at the heart of the international agenda. They have made significant commitments at COP 22. This is evidenced by the number of initiatives taken, namely the "Water for Africa" initiative, initiated by Morocco and supported by the African Development Bank), To mobilize funding for structural water security projects, the Marrakech Global Partnership for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, and the Climate Vulnerable Forum, which includes more than 40 vulnerable to realize 100% renewable energy between 2030 and 2050. The "Triple A" initiative, launched by Morocco and supported by more than 25 countries in Africa, is a good example of collective commitment. Being aware of the strategic issues related to water and energy, Morocco has undertaken efforts to cope with water stress and the challenges imposed by climate change. Despite the achievements, there is still a long way to go.

Corporate lawyers set up a representative association
Corporate lawyers now have their professional association. It was launched on 12th January at a ceremony attended by more than 70 Moroccan lawyers from five founding members: Leila Bazzi (President) Amandine Decoux (President of the Moroccan Legal Directorate) Vice-President), Axel Jurgensen (General Secretary), Kenza Margaoui (Treasurer) and Nidal El Hassani (Public Relations Officer). "According to a study conducted by Day One to gauge the expectations and needs of corporate lawyers, they are frustrated by the lack of professional representation and lack of recognition on the part of leaders. The function remains very often in the shadow as it becomes more and more strategic and it faces many challenges. This is what motivated the creation of the circle, "Nidal El Hassani said. The CMDJ already has 110 members, all lawyers from companies of various backgrounds (banking / insurance, pharmaceutical industry, agribusiness, retail, industry, construction, etc.), and its ambition is to reach the 250 members by the end of 2017.
