1. The 2017 General Tax Code Now Online: "The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) has just updated, on its portal, the General Tax Code, introducing the amendments provided by the Finance Act No. 73-16 for the fiscal year 2017, promulgated by Dahir No. 1-17-13 of Ramadan 14, 1438 (June 9, 2017), reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc in its edition of this July 19."


2. Nearly One Million MRE Welcomed in Various Maritime, Aerial, and Land Access Points: "A total of 968,096 Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) were welcomed at the various maritime, aerial, and land access points on July 16 since the launching of Operation Marhaba 2017, according to Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. This year's flow has recorded an increase in arrivals of 5.36% compared to 2016, specifies the Foundation in a statement transmitted Monday to MAP, noting that 452,559 people have joined the mother country through airway, and 515,537 through maritime, the welcoming site Tanger Med port remains the most used access point with a 30% share of arrivals."


3. A Digital Fundraiser to the Benefit of Al Amal Association: "From July 19 to 21, the startup Jumia has been organizing a digital fundraiser to the benefit of Al Amal association of the disabled. For each like, the company will pay it a dirham. The concept is simple. A video filmed from the reception center of the association Al Amal and Sofitel Casablanca will be transmitted live on the website of the startup during 48 hours. An event involving children, as well as national celebrities who will relay the said video on social networks for collecting more "likes". Each like will match a balloon inflated and will generate 1 dirham paid to the benefit of Al Amal association in order to contribute to the actions initiated in favor of children with disabilities."


4. A new DG at Mondelez Morocco: "The company operating in biscuit and confectionery has appointed Hussein Shoeib as new Director General for its Moroccan subsidiary. This appointing comes as part of the development strategy of Mondelez in the local market. Hussein Shoeib has more than 17 years of experience in the field. He had previously held various positions within the Egyptian subsidiary of Mondelez, particularly as Strategy and Sales Development Director in 2014. He was appointed in 2016 as Director of Planning & Activation for North Africa at Mondelez International."


5. Aliken Files a Proposed Takeover Bid on Med Paper Shares: "In accordance with Article 28 of Law 26-03 related to public offers on the stock market as amended and supplemented, the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) informs the public that ALIKEN, acting in concert with members of the SEFRIOUI family of MED Paper shareholders, filed on July 14, 2017, a proposed take-over bid for MED PAPER shares with the AMMC."
