LE MATIN DU SAHARA:
Events of Gdim Izik: The decision of the defendants to withdraw from the trial is a well-designed plot to torpedo it: "The decision of the defendants, continued during the events of Gdim Izik to withdraw on Tuesday from the current trial, is a well-studied plot to torpedo it. This approach, by its timing at this stage of the trial, marked by the face to face between witnesses and defendants, is explained by the fact that the vise tightens around the latter. Faced with the succession of testimonies against the vile crimes they have committed against members of the forces of order, the defendants thought it wise to flee to avoid confrontation and to face the common crimes they had to answer. Since Monday's hearing, the respondents did not hide their will to sabotage the course of the trial through a deliberate strategy when they threatened to observe a hunger strike, before turning back to the fact that such approach would further weaken their legal position."

Twelve years after its launching: INDH, a key factor in integration and social cohesion: "Twelve years ago, the King Mohammed VI launched the National Initiative for Human Development (NHRI). This grandiose and innovative project is part of the royal yards which, over the years, have shown their relevance and the sagacity of the vision that underlies them. Indeed, the INDH, which is now a model for many countries, has had a major impact on the living conditions of several million Moroccans, thus contributing to the strengthening of social cohesion and the integration of large segments of the population in the virtuous circle of active life and the creation of wealth. This Initiative, which aims to combat poverty, precariousness, and social exclusion, emphasizes training, capacity-building projects, and the promotion of income-generating activities. Should it be recalled that thanks to the NHRI, the World Bank ranked Morocco third in 2015 in the 136 countries that have adopted the best social programs? This global institution of reference considers the NHRI as an inspirational model for countries in the Middle East and North Africa region."

Second edition of Smart City Africa: Casablanca shows its ambition to become a smart metropolis: "Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, the second edition of Smart City Africa Casablanca opened in the metropolis yesterday. Continuing today, it is held under the theme "Cities for all". With the participation of some 90 stakeholders, the Smart City Casablanca deals with issues related to urban development."

A $350 million loan for the small enterprise: "The WB is approving a second loan to support development policies focused on the capital market and SME financing. This line covers a $350 million support operation. It follows on from a first loan of $300 million approved in April 2014. The aim is to support comprehensive and anticipatory reforms, conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Central Bank, the AMM, and the Supervisory Authority for Insurance and Pensions. These reforms introduce new financing solutions for essential investments in infrastructure and small enterprises. They contribute to job creation and higher incomes for citizens. Given that the financial sector is assuming increasing risk, this operation finances measures aimed at strengthening banking supervision, with the objective of ensuring financial stability."

The prize was awarded to Hamdi Ould Errachid, the President of the urban commune of Laayoune, who handed over the city's patch to the Qatari minister of the municipality and the environment, Mohamed Ben Abdelah Rmihi, and to the General Secretary of the OVA, Ahmed Hamd Sbih. LIBERATION:
These constitutional institutions are in bad shape: Competition Council, CNDH, and CCME... among others: "Since 2013, the Competition Council is non-existent. And for good reason, this constitutional institution will not be able to decide the cases submitted to it. Its president, Abdelali Benamor, had stated a few months ago that this council could not examine any subject that would fall within the scope of its powers, because the mandate of its members has expired and it will be necessary to wait for its renewal so that it can resume its activities."

The means to consolidate the Moroccan-Italian cooperation reviewed in Rabat: A delegation from the Italy-Morocco Friendship Parliamentary Group received by Habib El Malki and Abdelkrim Benatiq: "A delegation of the Italy-Morocco Friendship Parliamentary Group has begun a visit to Morocco on Tuesday with talks with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, and members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs."

AUJOURD'HUI LE MAROC:
ANRT notes an intensification and diversification of uses: Mobile telephony, a popular means of communication in rural areas: "Mobile telephony has come into force in the rural Moroccan environment. It has become widespread for almost all rural households. This is one of the main findings made by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) as part of its annual survey on the equipment and use of information technology by households and individuals for the year 2016. The ANRT measures through this study the level of equipment and uses and highlights the main trends to analyze the markets and develop perspectives for the years to come. For the year 2016, the regulator of the telecommunications market observes an intensification and diversification of uses. This is marked by the rise of mobile phones, particularly in rural areas. It is found that 90.7% of individuals between the ages of 12 and 65 are equipped outside the cities."

National Education: A second wave of contract teachers is preparing: "The Minister of National Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research, Mohamed Hassad, has shown his determination to reform the education sector by taking several measures. After his decision, a few days ago, to allow teachers of the public to work overtime in private institutions, the minister now wants to shave the prefabricated classes in the countryside."

Showing a turnover in increase of 10%: OCP: A positive balance sheet in the first quarter: "Good financial performance for the OCP in the first quarter of 2017. A positive balance sheet is emerging at the beginning of this year, which is decisive in the OCP strategy. Indeed, 2017 marks the end of the first phase of the industrial development plan initiated by the Office in 2008. The aim is to strengthen the position of OCP in all segments and to consolidate its leading position in the sector."
