Refinancing of Banks: Relaxation on Liquidity in 2016: "The conditions for refinancing banks have improved again in 2016. Strong Recovery of Banking Indicators Under the Supervision of BKAM: "Bank Al Maghrib has just published its 13th annual report on banking supervision. We learn that in a context of shy economic growth, banking credit could earn 4% in value in the year 2016. This performance is mainly driven by the increase in assistance to households (4.1%). Bank financing for non-financial enterprises also supported this increase, recovering from the decline received in 2015 by a 3.4% rebate. The volume of outstanding receivables has continued to build on its momentum in the past three years, with a risk rate of 7.6%. On the prudential level, the banks' financial base continued to consolidate, while the sector's average solvency ratio improved (14.2%) for a core capital ratio of 11.5%."

Detention of 18 Persons for Corruption and Drug Trafficking: "The investigating judge at the Court of Appeal of Rabat ordered on Wednesday evening the detention in the local prison of Salé of 18 people, including 14 policemen, for "corruption and complicity in drug trafficking," following their hearing in the context of the preliminary investigation, a judicial source said.
