Vital Farms, the pasture-raised egg brand, has teamed up with GUT Miami and comedian Heather McMahan to mark National Dog Day with a playful new campaign, “For Working Dogs Only.” At its heart is the launch of Cheesy Over Easy Dog Treats, a limited-edition product made with Vital Farms’ pasture-raised eggs and designed to celebrate the role of working dogs both on farms and in homes.
The campaign shines a spotlight on the guardian dogs that watch over hens across Vital Farms’ network of more than 500 family farms, protecting flocks from predators and guiding them through pastures. These loyal companions, the brand notes, are as vital to farm life as the eggs themselves.
The promotional video cleverly contrasts this farm life with the “hard work” of McMahan’s French bulldogs, Rigatoni and Macaroni, who excel at couch warming, singing for snacks, and taste-testing eggs dropped on the kitchen floor. Alongside them, farmer Jake and his guardian dog, Peaches, demonstrate the daily realities of farm work, highlighting the shared value of canine companionship in all forms.
“We love dogs and our farmers do too,” said Kathryn McKeon, Vital Farms’ chief marketing officer and general manager, Butter. “This special batch of treats and campaign represents our care for animals and the joy we find in celebrating them.”
The Cheesy Over Easy treats are made with just five simple ingredients and were developed in collaboration with Ava’s Pet Palace, an emerging pet food company founded by a young entrepreneur focused on healthier, sustainable food for pets.
