Yahoo is bringing a touch of humor — and horror — to inbox anxiety with its new Halloween-themed short film, “Reply All Is Scary.”
Created by Yahoo’s Creative Lab, the spot stars comedian Steph Barkley, who accidentally hits “reply all” while working in a coffee shop. As her message spreads, the atmosphere shifts — everyone turns to stare, and her inbox descends into chaos.
The campaign will run across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, tapping into the relatable panic of email misfires with a seasonal twist.
“We’ve all felt that moment of panic after hitting send — it’s pure horror,” said Kemma Kefalas, director at Yahoo Creative Lab, in an interview with the media ADWEEK. “Since it’s Halloween, we leaned into the spooky side, but in true Yahoo fashion, we had to make it funny, too.”
The ad continues Yahoo’s series dramatizing everyday tech frustrations. Earlier this year, the brand aired an August spot where a lifeguard rescued a woman’s overheated phone with a mini cooler, and a June campaign that poked fun at the classic “forgot to attach the file” blunder.
“Reply All Is Scary” turns a familiar office nightmare into a Halloween laugh — reminding users that even the scariest digital slip-ups can be handled, with a little help from Yahoo Mail.
