KFC launches ‘Bucket for one’ in Germany with rapper Calli and creative partners

KFC has embraced the “treat yourself” mindset of generation Z with its latest campaign, Bucket for one, rolled out across Germany. Developed by creative agency Butter in collaboration with production company Soup Film, the campaign taps into the rising trend of self-indulgence among young consumers.

At the heart of the campaign is German rapper Calli, who not only stars in the spot directed by Tatjana Wenig but also contributes an original track. The music video and campaign film reinterpret the German cult classic Dinner for one, replacing its traditional silverware with buckets of crispy chicken and fries. Calli’s lyrics highlight her playful independence: “I just want you to know I won’t share two things: that’s you and my fries.”

According to a recent Bank of America report, 57% of gen Z consumers buy themselves a small treat at least once a week. Philipp Wachholz, chief marketing officer at KFC Germany, explained the motivation behind the initiative: “We are currently seeing a strong need for individuality and small, personal breaks among generation Z. The Bucket for one aims to be exactly that: a moment of enjoyment just for me – whether during lunch, after university, or in between.”

The campaign goes beyond the traditional spot. Fans can expect challenges, competitions, and special promotions on social media, reinforcing KFC’s cultural connection with younger audiences. Calli, already gaining traction on platforms like TikTok, also becomes the first person in Germany to receive the KFC black card, granting unlimited access to KFC food.

The campaign officially launched on September 2, 2025, and will run across multiple channels including out-of-home, connected TV, radio, Spotify, and social platforms. The full-length song and video Bucket for one will be released on September 5, 2025, marking a new era where fast food and music culture collide to celebrate individuality.
