Nike and Patta have unveiled a new chapter in their creative partnership with The New Wave, a capsule collection centered on the iconic Nike Air Max 90. The launch is accompanied by a visually rich music video directed by Belgian-Congolese artist Baloji, known for his work with PRETTYBIRD, and features a vibrant lineup of musical talents: BNYX, BXKS, and Odumodublvck.
This release is part of the ongoing Wave series, a longstanding collaboration between the Amsterdam-based streetwear label and the American sportswear giant. Drawing on the cultural heritage of the Air Max 90, The New Wave merges street fashion, music, and visual storytelling in a way that speaks directly to a new generation of creators.
The music video, set entirely within a surreal, imagined universe inside the Air Max 90’s air unit, blends Black cultural symbolism with speculative futurism. BNYX, the American producer behind several global chart-toppers, joins UK lyricist BXKS and genre-defying Nigerian artist Odumodublvck. Together, they give voice to the collection’s ethos: bold, unapologetic, and culturally forward.
Still photography by Justin French complements the video’s dreamlike aesthetic, offering a layered visual experience that reflects the creativity and cultural depth driving the collaboration.
For Patta, The New Wave is more than a campaign — it’s a philosophy. “As a Black-owned, independent business, Patta has always been about creating waves,” the brand stated. “The Wave symbolizes duality — it pushes out, but also rolls back, making space for others. We speak loud, but we also give back.”
By blending fashion, music, and identity, The New Wave celebrates the power of community, creativity, and cultural legacy — all viewed through the lens of the iconic Air Max 90 silhouette.
